About this course

Andon is a fundamental tool in the lean manufacturing toolkit. In this course, you'll learn how to build a simple application for creating, sending, and storing digital andon alerts. We'll cover topics like:

  • Designing an effective layout for an andon application
  • Writing logic to see the status of a location or line based on app inputs
  • Create buttons that allow a user to create or clear an andon at a selected location
  • Dynamically changing visual elements to correspond with andon status at a location
  • Sending alerts via email or SMS from applications

Importantly, this course expands designs available for use now in the library. Specifically, this course takes the "Create / Clear" andon application from the Andon Functional Example as its foundation. You can download the functional example from the library here.

This course assumes basic knowledge of the Tulip platform and basic app building proficiency.
